After a few months out of the gym and a few weeks off the bike, my time of rest has come to an end. I will not have any big competitions for another 5-6 moths, but this is the time of season that matters most! It is during the off season that a solid base is built. The larger the base, the longer season of competition and more opportunity to taper and peak. Below is the average volume of training I will be doing over the next 5-6 months.

4-5 hours a week in the gym

15-17 hours a week on the bike

4+ hours a week in the Recovery Pump Boots

2+ hours a week of massage (painful ones...)

2+ hours a week of icing

As I get deeper in the my training and my body gets more and more tired, I will start to do something that is very important, but seems counter productive.

I WILL QUESTION WHAT IN THE HELL I AM DOING!!!

In my "line of work", if you do not reach a point of ultimate fatigue every so often you are doing it wrong... It is not something I look forward to, but in a strange way, it is a comforting reminder that I am giving it my all and it will all come into play when it matters most!

Have a GREAT 2014 and thank you so much for all the support!!!
